Job Description Position Title: Marketing and Communications SpecialistReports to: Executive Director, Sharlene O'KeefeEmployment Status: Temporary Full-Time Part- TimeFLSA Status: Nonexempt ExemptStart Date: TBDCompensation: DOE Position Summary The Marketing and Communications Specialist, under general supervision, provides the vision and leadership necessary to ensure long-range continuity of Poway OnStage and to support the core program strategy and mission of _Entertaining, Educating and Enriching through __Powerful Live Performances_. The Marketing and Communications Specialist performs a variety of marketing and promotional duties in support of the performances and programs presented by Poway OnStage including scheduling, creating, and managing both written and graphic components of print and digital collateral to increase ticket sales and community engagement. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Implements a seasonal marketing and public relations plan and maintains print and online ad calendars and content Creates and maintains the organization's social media presence including posts, events and ads. Generates media releases, show descriptions and additional copy for season brochures, playbills, website and social media. Oversees and reviews for quality, clarity and accuracy all collateral including but not limited to season brochures, websites, print and email, social media, performance programs, signage, press releases, posters, flyers, etc. Communicates directly with the graphic designer and other contributors to implement, plan and design marketing collateral, including tracking projects, dates and deadlines. Create and manage targeted marketing and group sales efforts through strategic partnerships with businesses, community groups, affinity groups, etc. Maintains contacts and mailing lists of patrons, vendors and media using Salesforce and/or MailChimp. Works collaboratively and provides marketing-related support for other projects as needed including special events, grant applications, fundraising appeals, etc. Tracks and reports ticket sales for performances and programs. Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Bachelor's degree and/or five years or more of relevant experience preferably in a nonprofit, arts or educational organization, demonstrating increasing responsibility and accountability as well as overall functional success Effective verbal and written communication skills with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the organization Ability to exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and work to maintain constructive working relationships Ability to work independently and collaboratively, effectively manage work assignments, set expectations, and monitor delegated activities Proven ability to cope with conflict, stress, and crisis situations through effective problem-solving and mediation skills Proven track record of sound and accurate judgment in making timely decisions Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
