Description:Summary/Objective: This position involves performing a variety tasks to support the product development engineering team and maintain the engineering lab and equipment. Under limited supervision, you will built, test, troubleshoot, and repair prototypes of PPS products that are in development. This position requires an advanced ability to troubleshoot to the component level and surface mount rework skills and training. In this position you will need to apply principles and theories of electronics, electrical circuitry, engineering mathematics, electronic and electrical testing, and physics. The work is performed under direction of engineering staff but often with minimal supervision.Essential functions:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functionsRead blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions for assembling or testing electronics units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components.Review technical documents to plan work. Perform assembly, test, rework of engineering prototypes of products in accordance with engineering instructions.Identify functional issues or design related issues when testing there prototypes.Built test fixtures, harnesses, loads and other support equipment as required to validate and test engineering prototype assemblies and/or products.Troubleshoot, rework and repair to the component level as neededSupport Design engineering and production test as needed for all AC and DC Power Systems to resolve technical issues that prevent products from passing performance criteriaResponsible for all technical aspects in the engineering lab area. This includes maintaining the lab equipment and tools in good working order and keeping the lab in an orderly state and cleanliness.Manage the equipment calibration requirementsEnsure product compliance with engineering specifications and quality standardsSupport and train other Technical Staff to perform selected design tasks as assignedEvaluate performance in actual products to determine both operating and test software to insure they are operating correctly.Develop production test fixturing requirements and documentation to allow manufacturing to fabricate and test new products.Skills:Troubleshooting, R&d, Test equipment, Electronics, Oscilloscope, Soldering, Schematic, engineering lab, r&d lab, prototypeTop Skills Details:electronic manufacturingR&D lab settingTest equipmentBlueprints / schematicsAdditional Skills & Qualifications:Must demonstrate a strong understanding of power electronicsMust be able to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly diagrams and material listsMust be able to able to follow preliminary test procedures created by design engineering and complete test data sheets in a consistent manner to document test results for engineering review.Must be proficient in the use of basic test instruments such as DMM, Oscilloscope, AC/DC Power Supplies, etc.Must be able to use production tools including soldering iron and basic hand toolsUnderstand or learn to be able to connect test equipment to power source designs using a variety of interfaces and programs.
