Designs, develops, modifies and evaluates electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment, and/or other hardware systems. Determines design approaches and parameters. Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability. May also review vendor capability to support product development. May use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform assignments. Applies principles and techniques of electrical engineering to accomplish goals. Works under general supervision. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action; a certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: --- Provides analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of electronic parts, components, or integrated circuitry for hardware systems--- Develops test strategies, devices, and systems--- Plan and implement research methodology and procedures to apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects--- Analyzes equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results--- Performs stress and performance tests on a variety of computer hardware including circuit boards, processors and wiring --- Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks--- Prepares and studies technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems, to ensure conformity to standards and customer requirements--- Generates architecture for functional components and assists with product architecture--- Delivers hardware designs through prototype, beta, and production release in compliance with product development process and quality practices--- Supports existing products by troubleshooting and failure analysis--- Participates in technical design reviews of existing designs and peer reviews Commercially Sensitive Business Data--- Compile data and write reports regarding existing and potential engineering studies and projects Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Education and/or Experience:--- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in a related discipline and 2-5 years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. --- Recent experience within the last 2-5 years in hands-on electrical product design and an ability to take an electrical / board level design from conception to product release.--- Experience with several analog/mixed-signal IC development cycles including design, simulation, layout and testing. --- Experience with low noise amplifier, filters and power supply design. --- Experience with design practices such as minimizing device mismatch, noise, and signal coupling is a plus.--- Experience with PWB layout, routing and component selection a plus.--- Hands on experience with industry recognized MRP/ERP system in the management of bills-of-materials and Engineering Change Orders. --- Working knowledge of board assembly manufacturing processes and design for manufacturing of board level and electromechanical products. --- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.--- Candidate must be a "self-starter," a strong team member, and requires only limited supervision.--- Must have strong interpersonal and communications skills and a willingness to proactively collaborate to solve problems. --- Demonstrated ability to multi-task effectively."We Engineer your success" Britech Group, Inc is a Technology Staffing Company who are experts in integrating exceptional people with top companies.
