Description: L3Harris in San Diego, CA is seeking a senior
professional with strong knowledge of cable and interconnect design
to support the design and manufacture of Tracking, Telemetry, and
Command products for airborne and space-based applications. This
role involves designing, drafting, and documenting cable and wiring
harnesses for various applications, ensuring compliance with
industry standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have
experience in CAD software, knowledge of relevant standards, and
the ability to work collaboratively with contract manufacturers and
cross-functional teams. Essential Functions: Design and draft cable
and wiring harnesses for electro-mechanical systems using CAD
software. Create detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and harness
layouts IAW ASME Y 14.100. Ensure all designs comply with relevant
industry standards, including IPC/WHMA-A-620, SAE AS50881,
NASA-STD-8739.4 and others as applicable. Collaborate with
engineering teams to establish design requirements and
specifications. Perform design verification and validation
activities. Prepare bills of materials (BOM) and other
documentation required for manufacturing. Coordinate with
procurement and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are
producible and cost-effective. Review and update designs and
documentation as needed to reflect changes in requirements or
standards. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all
designs and design changes. Participate in design reviews and
provide technical guidance as needed. Required Qualifications (one
of the following): Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering,
Electrical Engineering, or a related field and minimum 6 years of
prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years
of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10
years of prior related experience. Preferred Additional
Skills:Minimum of 6 years of experience in cable and wiring harness
design. Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or
equivalent. Strong knowledge of industry standards including
IPC/WHMA-A-620, SAE AS50881, NASA-STD-8739.4. Excellent
understanding of schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, and harness
layout. Experience with design verification and validation
processes. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective
communication and teamwork abilities. Attention to detail and
strong organizational skills. Electronic packaging experience for
aviation or space environments. Design for Manufacturability and
Assembly (DFM/DFMA) experience. Knowledge of PCB layout and design
practices and standards. Familiarity with Electronics assembly and
construction processes and techniques. In compliance with pay
transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in
California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater
D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $102,000 - $189,000. This is not a
guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary
based on factors including but not limited to experience and
