Job Description:

As a member of the senior management team of Cohu, this position provides leadership for global quality and business process improvement throughout our Semiconductor Test business.-- This position has responsibility to:1.-- ------ Drive and implement Quality Management Systems (ISO / IATF) in line with company's global Quality objectives, ensuring that businesses processes across business units, global function and metrics are aligned to create highest product quality and competitive advantage.2. -------- Responsible for substantially strengthening Quality systems, driving Quality into our designs and determining, standardizing the appropriate functional system infrastructure and tools (problem solving and risk management) required to reach automotive quality level.3.-- ------ Promote quality throughout the company and execute Quality roadmap established with executive team. Plan, implement and advance the quality systems at all levels of the organization. Oversees and conducts analysis to assure effectiveness into our final product meeting customer requirement and internal quality standards.Key AccountabilitiesWorks with the executive team and business unit general managers to identify opportunities for business process development and performance improvement, taking ownership for executing and expanding on Cohu Quality roadmap. Own global quality function reporting to the entire executive management of the company.Harmonize our quality systems and business processes. Identify best practices and drive consolidation to enable collaborative work, sharing of R&D development and achieve operational objectives, deploying lean six-sigma methodologies and automotive quality tools targeting IATF compliance.Support development team to define Critical to Quality through FMEA and continuous improvement of product quality company-wide driving improvements into the supply chain while meeting customer requirements.Responsible for overseeing and conducting analysis to assure final product meets customer and internal quality standards. Gather and analyze customer data, identify trends, use statistics to identify customer needs and make practical recommendations for improving quality.Focus on outcomes such as improved organizational performance and effectiveness, improved productivity, reduction in costs and in measurable bottom-line results (i.e., higher yields, reduced waste, decreased product cost, reduced operational costs and cycle times, improved quality and increased customer satisfaction).Responsible for managing internal and customer audits and reporting process. Visit customers to report, instill confidence and demonstrate organizational capability of the organization on a path to zero defects.Key DeliverablesDrive tangible and measurable improvements to key processes through the leadership, training and mentoring of teams.Develop, upgrade and harmonize company business processes through Quality Management System including procedures in product development, operations, sales & service.Coach and mentor managers and leaders in the use of various lean tools, concepts and practices.Preferred AttributesCustomer focus and data drivenSets high expectations for sustained excellenceStrong initiative, resourceful and resilient, action orientedAbility to lead and facilitate changeFunctional CompetenciesExcellent business knowledge, acumen and program management skills including the capability to effectively manage programs and processes across multiple areas of a global organization.Experience implementing quality and business process improvement initiatives in a global, discrete manufacturing environment.--Strong analytical and problem-solving skills possessing proven record on Kaizen and Automotive quality tools.Demonstrated leader, change agent, influencer, coach and team builder.Prefer hands-on experience implementing Quality initiatives in manufacturing, field service, and transactional areas.Excellent presentation, communication, facilitation and collaboration skills. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products.Fluent written and spoken English required.EducationBachelor's--Degree--in related technical or operations.Master's--Degree--preferred.Experience12+--years--of relevant experience in Engineering/Technical/Operations management in a high technology, capital equipment environment, preferably in a global company.10+--years--in leading / managing automotive quality.5+--years--of leadership/management experience in a director or higher-level position.5+--years--of experience in a significant operational excellence, business transformation or continuous business process improvement environment.Job ConditionsInternational travel required up to 35% of time with extended stays in the U.S., Europe and Asia during the first--year--of work.Work in office as well as manufacturing/lab/field environment.--Physical Demands/Strengths:-- Walking, standing, ability to sit at desk or computer terminal for long periods of time.
