Job Description:

General Atomics (GA), and its affiliated companies, is one of the world 's leading resources for high-technology systems development ranging from the nuclear fuel cycle to remotely piloted aircraft, airborne sensors, and advanced electric, electronic, wireless and laser technologies.

We are currently seeking a Vice President Treasurer to provide enterprise-wide leadership of the Treasury and Insurance functions.


This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and has primary responsibility for directing the Treasury, Insurance and Travel functions of the Company. The position is responsible for maintaining relationships with the financial community including banking partners and other lenders, and recommends and executes the placing of revolving credit facilities, letter of credit lines and/or term debt on the Company 's behalf. The Treasurer may evaluate, recommend and implement risk management strategies using interest rate and/or foreign exchange derivatives. The position directs cash management strategy and planning, institutional cash investments, credit administration, bank account operations and payment systems. The position also serves as a member of the retirement plan investment committee.

The Treasurer oversees activities and negotiations related to the Company 's insurance and surety bond programs, including broker selection and the assessment of the Company 's insurance coverage requirements and policy terms.

The position oversees the Company 's travel programs, including internal travel policies, travel service providers and the travel card program.

The Treasurer participates with other key senior executives in setting objectives and developing and implementing current and long-range business plans and strategies for the Company. The position also participates in the evaluation and approval process for bids and proposals, contract terms and capital expenditures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Direct the Treasury functions including cash management, credit administration, travel and business insurance programs to achieve or exceed business and strategic plan objectives.
Direct the Insurance and Risk Management functions of the Company. Develop and maintain financial community relationships, cash management practices and procedures, and risk management policies.
Represent the Company with regard to Treasury and Insurance matters in all relations with its global customers and business and non-business communities, with specific emphasis on the financial community and regulatory agencies.
Direct the planning, selection, retention, and development of human capital to ensure the availability of the required management and financial talent.
Participate with other key senior executives in setting objectives and developing and implementing current and long -range business plans and strategies.
Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications: This is a key position requiring unique experience, education and background with extensive managerial, planning, financial, treasury, and insurance experience. Typically, the incumbent has achieved prominence in the field.

Possess exceptional judgment and strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, financial advisors and suppliers, and community partners, insurance brokers, key senior executives and business leaders.

In this position extended hours and occasional travel are expected.
