Job Description:
Reports To: Radiology Manager
Job Summary: The Radiology Technologist performs diagnostic medical
radiographic procedures and studies
with a thorough understanding of standard radiography and
fluoroscopy. The technologist must be able to assist
the physician, interpret orders and explain procedures to RN's,
patients, and families. They must have a
thorough understanding of the Radiology Department operations to
assist non-technical staff in processing
paperwork, films and expediting patient transportation.
Job Duties:
The following are essential job duties and percentage of time:
--- Performs radiographic examinations
--- Performs the duties of Radiological Technologist or Radiation
Therapy Technologist as needed
--- Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas
--- Operates automatic equipment to develop film
--- Prepares room and equipment for patient
--- Loads and unloads film viewer
--- Delivers reports to pods, puts reports in jackets
--- Restocks rooms with essential supplies
--- Pick up clean linen, deliver soiled linen to drop off
--- Does QA/QC for X-Ray and Mammography
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. Job

Customer Service:
1. Call patients back by first and last names
2. Keep conversation of exam and patient health issues in exam
rooms
3. Do not discuss patients and exams with vendor.
4. Keep reports away from public eye.
5. Be kind and considerate to all
Compliance:
1. Cover all names of patient jackets, reports
2. Do not show films or reports to patients
3. No unauthorized person allowed in tech area or patient room.
4. Schedule board has last name only for exam and time. Only office
personnel know what column is for
what exam.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education High School or equivalent
Minimum Experience 0-6 months
Preferred Experience 6-12 months
Req. Certification/Registration CA license in Mammo. Tech. ARRT,
CRT, Fluoroscopy license, CPR
Skills: Clerical/Communication Answer telephones, interpersonal
skills, maintain filing systems, maintain
patient charts, medical terminology proficiency, research
information,
schedule appointments
Skills: Machine Desktop computer & peripheral equipment, fax,
copier, scanner
Personal Protective Equipment Eye Protection, lab coat or apron,
sterile medical gloves
Sensory Requirements Far Acuity: ability to see clearly at 20 feet
or more, Near Acuity: ability to
see clearly at 20 inches or less, Depth Perception: ability to
judge distance
and space relationships, Field of Vision: ability to see
peripherally,
Accommodation: ability to adjust vision to bring objects into
focus, Color
Vision: ability to distinguish and identify different colors, Field

Hearing: ability to distinguish sounds and tones
Physical/Psychological Demands Moderate physical effort (lift/carry

Working Conditions Contact with patients under wide variety of
