In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of incarcerated individuals through structured therapeutic recreation programs. This position offers a unique opportunity to promote rehabilitation, resilience, and positive behavioral change within a secure environment—all with a competitive compensation package. Responsibilities: - Plan, organize, and lead therapeutic recreation programs that address the emotional, social, and physical needs of inmates. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. - Conduct assessments to determine inmate interests, abilities, and therapeutic needs. - Facilitate group and individual recreational therapy sessions focused on coping skills, stress management, social interaction, and leisure education. - Document all treatment sessions, assessments, and progress notes in accordance with facility and CDCR guidelines. - Participate in Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IDTT) meetings and contribute to comprehensive inmate care planning. - Support inmate transitions and pre-release preparation by promoting healthy recreation and community reentry skills. - Maintain a safe and secure environment, adhering to all California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) regulations, policies, and procedures.
