their roles. We are actively seeking an Admissions and Intake
Specialist within our substance use and co-occurring disorder
treatment intensive outpatient program . As an essential member of
our team, the Admissions and Intake Specialist plays a vital role
in helping individuals navigate the complex landscape of seeking
treatment for substance use and co-occurring disorders. Position
Overview The Admissions and Intake Specialist acts as the initial
point of contact for individuals seeking help within our program,
whether they contact us via phone, website chat or form
submissions. Their primary responsibility is to guide prospective
clients through the admissions and intake process, ensuring a
smooth and compassionate transition into our intensive outpatient
(IOP) and outpatient (OP) programs. The Specialist's role is
multi-faceted and involves assessing individuals for eligibility,
verifying insurance coverage/eligibility, conducting the intake
process and completing all intake forms, and coordinating
appropriate next steps according to State and County requirements.
The Specialist may also carry a caseload of clients. The role of an
Admissions and Intake Specialist within our outpatient substance
use and co-occurring disorder treatment intensive outpatient
program is a challenging yet rewarding one. By effectively guiding
individuals through the admissions and intake process, the
Specialist plays a pivotal role in helping individuals access the
treatment they need to embark on their recovery journey. If you are

co-occurring disorders. Key Responsibilities Client Assessment :
Perform thorough assessments of prospective clients to determine
their eligibility for our program. This includes gathering
information about demographics, substance use history, mental
health concerns, and related background information. Insurance
Verification : Verify the insurance coverage of potential clients,
particularly those covered by Medi-Cal. Familiarity with Medi-Cal
guidelines and eligibility criteria is crucial to ensure accurate
billing and reimbursement processes. Intake : Conduct comprehensive
intake with prospective clients to gather crucial information
regarding their substance use and co-occurring disorders and
complete all required intake documentation. These intakes should be
conducted in a supportive and empathetic manner, ensuring that
clients feel heard and understood. Treatment Planning : Collaborate
with the treatment team to support individualized treatment plans
for clients, based on the information obtained during the intake
process. This involves considering the unique needs and goals of
each client, as well as their preferences for treatment modalities,
and State and County requirements. Coordination : Liaise with
internal and external stakeholders, such as referring agencies,
insurance providers, and other treatment centers, to ensure a
smooth and coordinated transition into the program. Documentation :
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all client
interactions, assessments, and treatment plans. This includes
adhering to legal and ethical guidelines for confidentiality and
record-keeping. Adherence to Regulations : Stay up-to-date with
regulatory guidelines, licensing requirements, and best practices
related to substance use disorder treatment. Ensure compliance with
all relevant laws and regulations. Qualifications and Skills High
School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in psychology,
social work, counseling, or a related field preferred. Valid
C-Number with Los Angeles County to access SAGE/PCNX EHR preferred.
Hold valid certification as a drug and alcohol counselor (e.g.,
CADC, CAADC) or registration (e.g. RADT) in the state of
California, with expertise in substance use disorders and
co-occurring treatment. Bilingual in Spanish or Khmer preferred.
Experience working in admissions and intake within a substance use
disorder treatment program. Knowledge of Medi-Cal guidelines and
procedures for admissions and intake. Familiarity with co-occurring
disorders and trauma-informed care. Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with
clients and collaborate effectively with coworkers and external
stakeholders. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail,
ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to deadlines.
