Job SummaryGeneral Atomics (GA), and its affiliated companies,
is one of the world's leading resources for high-technology systems
development ranging from the nuclear fuel cycle to remotely piloted
aircraft, airborne sensors, and advanced electric, electronic,
wireless and laser technologies.We have an exciting opportunity for
a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to join the Payroll and
Administration Value Stream team within the ITS organization
located in San Diego, CA. With minimal oversight from leadership,
this individual will play a pivotal role as a liaison between one
or more business functions and departments, including but not
limited to: Payroll, Labor Accounting, Facilities, Finance, Human
Resources, Accounting, Flight Operations, Contracts, Logistics,
Quality, Procurement, and resources from various Information
Technology disciplines (e.g. infrastructure, operations,
cybersecurity, applications, development, and continuous
improvement) to ensure the four critical pillars of business
analyses are accomplished effectively and efficiently: (1) IT
Projects, (2) Applications & Systems Enhancements, (3) Break-fixes,
and (4) Business Process Support, to provide business process and
technology support that enables seamless business operations. This
position requires technical aptitude, strong interpersonal
communication skills, and knowledge of business process and
strategy to work closely with end-users, business process analysts,
and leaders to interpret requirements, provide best practice and
innovative solution design recommendations, and to lead
implementations and deliver on value-added, technology driven
solutions.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:As part of GA's Information
Technology Services (ITS) Value Stream team, the individual will
participate in supporting the GA business in the following value
stream tracks:PayrollLabor AccountingHuman
ResourcesFacilitiesSecurityOther GA Administration
functionsConfiguration knowledge of SAP Human Capital Management
(HCM) module primarily for the Time Management and Payroll
components.Manage integrations between SAP and Non-SAP
applicationsLead meetings and discussions on new project
initiatives throughout all the phases of typical ITS projects with
some or little supervision:Facilitates process-oriented
meetings.Understands and identifies areas for process improvement
through functional and technical solutions.Distinguishes between a
reasonable business requirement vs. a solution
requirements.Documents the process flows in a swim lane
format.Writes functional specifications for complex development
objects (Forms, Reports, Interfaces, Conversion, Enhancements, and
Workflow)Understand system configuration foundation and be able to
learn configuration behaviors of various applications (e.g. SAP
Products and other systems with similar configuration
settings)Engages customers for user acceptance testing.Identifies,
tracks, and resolves issues from all phases of the
project.Communicates project statuses both positive and negative in
a concise and meaningful manner.Works closely with technical
developers, application administrators, infrastructure teams,
security, and other functional analysts for cross-functional
delivery of complex solutions.Develops test procedures and
coordinates testing of changes with process owners. Follows
established change control procedures to move any changes to
Production.Performs other duties as assigned or required. We

bachelor's degree and 7 or more years technical experience working
with computerized systems. May substitute equivalent experience in
lieu of education.Must demonstrate a thorough understanding of
Software lifecycle principles such as Waterfall, Agile, and
Scrum.Must demonstrate strong business analyst and solution
architect skills and project execution.Experience as a Business
Analyst on multiple system implementationsMust possess the ability
to follow best practices regarding documentation and unit
testing.Must possess the ability to contribute to the development
of new processes, as well as effectively identify, analyze and
resolve highly complex business process and technical issues. Must
be customer focused, demonstrate excellent verbal and written
communication skills to accurately document, report, and present
findings, and possess excellent interpersonal skills to interface
with all levels of employees.Must be a team player with
demonstrated professional/social interpersonal relationship
management skills.Must be able to maintain the strict
confidentiality of sensitive information.Must be able to work
extended hours and travel between Company facilities as
required.Must possess the ability to understand new concepts
quickly and apply them in an evolving environment while
contributing to the development of new processes.Must be customer
focused and possess: (1) the ability to identify and analyze issues
and develop solutions to a variety of highly complex and diverse
problems; (2) excellent analytical, verbal and written
communication skills to accurately document, report, and present
findings; (3) excellent interpersonal skills to interface with all
levels of employees, management and external contacts; (4) the
ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information;
and (5) excellent computer skills. Ability to work independently or
in a team environment is essential to multi-task in a fast-paced
work environment. Experience working in a government contracting
environment or within Aerospace & Defense industry is a
plus.Knowledge of general business processes in "payroll", or "time
keeping" areas is required.
