Instructional Design Manager (The Boston Consulting Group, Inc.
- Los Angeles, California): Lead the development of live, online, and
distance learning content and training materials, to both support
Practice Areas and expand coverage of key professional skills within the LAB
platform. Specific duties include: produce BCG-relevant, first-class
blended training materials for our consulting staff; review learning
content in close collaboration with subject matter experts across the
firm, spanning the Learning, Knowledge and Practice Area
organizations; understand target audiences and learning needs for key
strategic learning topics; plan and manage content development cycle
in collaboration with the LAB Development Manager; transform
BCG proprietary knowledge into content suitable for live, distance
learning, or a combination of delivery mechanisms for maximum impact; work
closely with production, marketing, and senior-level stakeholders to
ensure effective launch and communication of training programs and
maximize usage; identify enhancement areas and potential solutions for
training content/program design; and coach and develop junior
instructional designers and content writers to meet LAB team's high
standards. Requires a Master's degree in education, instructional design,
business administration, management or related field (willing to accept
foreign education equivalent) plus three (3) years of experience
designing and developing instructional materials and leading instructional
design projects on management consulting skills or within a
management consulting setting. Alternatively, will accept a Bachelor's
degree in education, instructional design, business administration,
management or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent)
and five (5) years of experience designing and developing instructional
materials and leading instructional design projects on management
consulting skills or within a management consulting setting. Specific
skills/other requirements (quantitative experience requirements not
applicable to this section) must possess experience with the following: (i)
managing multiple, diverse project teams and communicating with
senior stakeholders; (ii) designing and developing instructional
materials for virtual classrooms, e-learning modules, and live classroom
sessions; (iii) writing and developing storylines; (iv) developing
learning content throughout the full blended learning design cycle
including assessing training needs, defining learning goals, leading teams
of content writers and subject matter experts, working with visual
design and multi-media providers, and evaluating training effectiveness
for further enhancement; (v) designing Firm-level training programs
or resources in a matrix organization requiring navigation through
global networks and teams across multiple functions and cultures; and
(vi) working with a Learning Management System, including Saba or
Storyline Articulate. Domestic/international travel based on
client/company need. Must have unrestricted authorization to work in U.S. M-F, 9:00
