Job Description The main duties and responsibilities of the
Project Surveyor are to assist the Survey Manager by developing
technical documents and other mapping products as directed in order
to meet deadlines. The ideal candidate will be a licensed
professional with a working knowledge of the basic workflows
involved in the land surveying and Geographic Information Systems
Work independently along-side other duly licensed California
Licensed Surveyors on various types of survey projects related to
infrastructure and land development projects with tasks including,
but not limited to: Boundary Surveys, Topographical Surveys, Right
of Way Surveys, Terrestrial and Mobile Laser Scanning, Legal
Descriptions, Horizontal and Vertical Control Networks, Aerial
Mapping (fixed wing, helicopter and drone), Construction Staking,
As-built Surveys and Mapping, GIS services and other various
Assess project requirements, while implementing a sound approach or
application to meet the needs of the project and client, ensuring
project deliverables satisfy project requirements.
Enhance project quality by providing ideas and suggestions to the
team aimed at improving the effectiveness of the team, and of the
project activities in general.
Take a leadership role in executing field and office safety
Participate in corporate initiatives to assist in meeting the
companys goals for sales, profitability, quality and safety.
Provide QA/QC on own survey deliverables and calculations.
Manage and complete assigned project tasks.
Obtain clear direction from supervisors and clients on all required
Work under the direction of the Director of Surveys for assigned
survey projects. Manage and track established KPIs.
Participate in the Survey user group meetings.
Perform other incidental and related duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills Experienced user of AutoCAD Civil3D,
Trimble Business Center (TBC) along with other common mapping and
survey processing software packages.
Licensed California Land Surveyor with six years of field and
Previous experience as a Project Surveyor or Principal
Experience in public utilities, transportation, and/or land
development-related survey projects.
Working knowledge with Trimble field equipment and office
3D scanning and/or processing experience.
Ability to utilize computer systems as a tool to effectively
Leadership, oral and written communication skills, planning,
teamwork, decision making, judgment and problem-solving skills.
Valid drivers license with clean driving record required. Benefits
