We have an exciting career opportunity for a Component Engineer working in our DMSMS Group located in Poway, CA.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform Lifecycle Management Engineering activities on Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS).
Candidate will focus on systems affected by Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) issues and assist in activities to ensure a solution is in place before production or sustainment is impacted. As part of the DMSMS team roles include:

• Point-of-Contact (POC) for all Companywide end-of-life (EOL) notifications and issues, performing platform / program impact analysis and evaluating and coordinating bridge/last time buys.
• Interface with Integrated Project Teams (IPTs), Project Engineers and Program Management across multiple platforms on status updates.
• Preparation and support for customer deliverables (CDRLs) and meetings, as well as, internal working group meetings.
• Gathers, collects, records, tracks, and verifies data and information from multiple sources and maintains records and file systems electronically on shared drives.
• Support Procurement and Subcontracts to resolve part shortage and obsolescence issues.
• Support BOM reviews for part lifecycle risk management as required.
• Provide support with component / supplier selection, analysis and documentation to meet technical requirements posed by design teams during concept and development for both Electrical and Mechanical parts.
• Create and maintain part specifications and assist in maintaining parts database.
• Research market / technology trends of suppliers and devices.

  Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; four or more years of experience with a bachelors degree or two or more years of experience with a masters degree.
  • Experience with all MS Office Suite programs, especially Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint programs as well as Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Familiar with MRP systems used in the industry (SAP, Windchill, etc.)
  • Experience with BOM analysis tools (i.e. GIDEP, Ihs BOM Manager and 4D Online, QStar, etc) is also desired.
  • Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and, determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems.
  • Must have excellent communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to perform complex tasks in one engineering area; and, lead a team of less experienced professional employees on semi-routine tasks.
    Salary: $68,770 - $116,193
