Job Description:

Ideal Candidate has apparel manufacturing, merchandising, and/or apparel quality control experience.
Overall:
Under general supervision and within all established policies and procedures, responsible for in house inspections / audits for all incoming shipments (Domestic and International) working closely with the Product Development Team.
Essential Functions:
Receive incoming samples from factories to be audited.
All garment measurements to be documented in our PLM system and sent to the factory. This will include photographs and detailed description about the construction/corrections to be made to the garments.
Inspect incoming shipments and document their findings.
Investigate root cause of quality issues.
Check and pull samples from inventory when needed for PD Team.
Work with Production Management and Quality Assurance to provide feedback to factories regarding quality defects.
Performs garment inspection and testing as a result of customer feedback, random audits and recalls.
To be flexible to work with the team on any projects that are priority.
Upholds the Chef Works core values.

Maintain:
Master sample room and ensure all samples are updated and sealed.
Wash downs from our Lab as well as outside laundry.
Ensure master sealed samples are shipped to the corresponding factories and to include all documentation pertaining to the relevant style.
Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma and two or more year's college level course work in product development, procurement, fashion merchandising or other related area or equivalent work experience.
3 or more years progressive experience in apparel manufacturing, merchandising, and / or apparel quality control. Experience must include an overall understanding of garment construction, fabric selection and pattern construction.
Demonstrated proficiency in the following;
excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

strong organizational skills
ability to work independently without a lot of close supervision
PC knowledge to include intermediate use of Excel, Word, Powerpoint and database programs. Experience with ERP / MRP systems a plus.
presentation skills to a broad variety of personnel including non-native English speakers
skills to work as a team member and in openly sharing best practices
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and in meeting schedules and deadlines.
bilingual Spanish, Mandarin or other foreign language preferred

Physical Requirements: Occasional lifting of 20 - 30# or less (less than 5% of the time) generally at waist level, some above/below waist, none above shoulders. Must be able to do desk work, which includes computer work for extended periods of time. Position also requires use of telephone (to include videoconferencing). Position requires use of hands to manipulate fabric and garments. Requires work in a warehouse setting, with temperature fluctuations, generally standing, some sitting. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision.
